OPOTY 2018 shortlisted images
so this week I got the exciting news that two of my images were shortlisted in the 2018 Outdoor Photographer of the Year competition.
I entered two categories, Light on Land and Waters Edge. Two very classic landscape photography genres and happen to be the ‘over-done’ subject out of the several categories OPOTY offers in the award.
So it was a great surprise and delight to get this far, there is still much to come with the winners and finalists being selected which we will find out by the end of February.
I whole heartedly don’t believe I will get any further but that doesn’t bother me. I’m over the moon to get this far as it is and join such amazing photographers in the shortlist. So congratulations to everyone who was shortlisted in this years OPOTY and good luck for the next round.
My two shortlisted images were taken in two of North Wales, slate quarries - Cwmorthin and Dinorwic, both shot in the pouring rain. Again, both were taken on a week’s trip to Snowdonia back in November on a trip called SnowdoniaTogFest2018 or TwitterTogFest. Joining several other photographers, many of whom have shortlisted in this years OPOTY competition too.
